How do we make elements from polyurethane elastomers?
We manufacture polyurethane elastomer components using cold casting. We have modern equipment for careful mixture preparation and precise dosing into open molds. This reliable technology allows us to produce products in any shape, color, and with a wide range of hardness. The advantage of this method is the use of simple pouring molds, which are many times cheaper than injection molding, ensuring cost-effective production even for small batches. We cast in molds provided by the customer, but we can also create suitable molds from plastic or aluminum.
Specification of manufactured elements
Polyurethanes are polymer materials that have recently gained increasing popularity. They are an excellent alternative to rubber. They provide excellent vibration damping and high abrasion and tear strength, as well as resistance to grease, oil, and UV radiation. The temperature resistance of the manufactured components ranges from -30 to 80°C, and hardness from 30 to 90°ShA. They are widely used in many industries. Polyurethanes are used to make automotive suspension components, parts of industrial and construction machinery exposed to abrasion, and sifter screens, among other things.
In our production, we use polyurethane elements in transport containers to protect delicate car parts against damage.
When to use a foundry?
The main advantage of polyurethane components over rubber ones is their simple manufacturing technique. Casting takes place at ambient temperature, using gravity into simple, open plastic molds.
Unlike with rubber, there's no need for expensive metal molds, pressing, or heating for vulcanization. All of this makes the production of polyurethane components cost-effective, even for small batches or even single pieces.
